One small step...one giant journey
Hello all from Los Angeles. The adventure has begun in earnest. Sitting in an Air New Zealand Lounge waiting for our flight to French Polynesia in about 3 hours. We arrive there in the middle of the night. Can you imagine what sunrise will behold. No strange encounters just yet except with those funny people in a tube that flies through the skies.
The temperature has gone up from 23 degrees this morning in Park Forest to 68 now in LA.
Papeete, Tahiti is our next stop - where it is a reported 80. Better practice the Polynesian hula.
Not sure when I will be connected again as we leave Pepeete on our connection to a place called Rangiroa - an atoll 150 miles north of Papeete - a circle of islets surrouunding a teaming lagoon with entrances to the surrounding Pacific. Janet still coughing - hope she makes it OK in the next leg - 10 hours to Papeete than an hour more.
And damn - we'll have to miss the State of the Union speech.
Mel
