Mel and Janet's Excellent Adventure

This blog is a way for Janet and Mel to communicate with friends and family during their incredible journeys following retirement. Of course, some adventures are less than incredible. You might not find those here. Their most recent adventure took them to Okinawa, Japan to see their now 4-year old twin grandchildren, Milana Michelle and Tavis Michael. Feel free to add your comments, questions, or just news. Private communications can be sent to m-muchnik@sbcglobal.net.

Cyclone Nancy Eye

Cyclone Nancy Eye

Then an amazing sequence when the eye of the storm passed within 10 miles. We saw the blue of the eye, it stopped raining but the wind continued to howl. It was the first time I ever saw ... really had a sense of seeing .. a cyclone or hurricane. We saw the clouds on the outside circling clockwise as they do here in the southern hemisphere (the reverse is true of a hurricane or typhoon in the northern hemisphere).
