Mel and Janet's Excellent Adventure

This blog is a way for Janet and Mel to communicate with friends and family during their incredible journeys following retirement. Of course, some adventures are less than incredible. You might not find those here. Their most recent adventure took them to Okinawa, Japan to see their now 4-year old twin grandchildren, Milana Michelle and Tavis Michael. Feel free to add your comments, questions, or just news. Private communications can be sent to m-muchnik@sbcglobal.net.

And we're off again!

We recently traveled to a reunion of my cousins in Florida. My youngest son Greg, his wife April, daughter Sydney (almost 11) and son Ethan (3 1/2) went with us. At breakfast, one day, Ethan's bagel was teetering precipitously near the edge of the table. I began to mention it. "Ethan, the bagel is near the edge...." but over it went. Ethan's response? An enthusiastic "Bagel down."

Well, in the same vein, "Blog up!"

I'm not sure that anything can match the exotic beauty and nature of Bali but we are off to spend some time with long-time friends John and Judy Webster in Manchester, England. They are host and hostess "extraordinaire" and we know we will have a wonderful time. Then, off to Prague, Vienna and Budapest. It will be spring festival season in Prague and Vienna with many wonderful concerts. Then we will spend two weeks with Mary, Brad and Holly Dankowski in London and Paris. Then on to the south of France where Greg, April, Syd and Ethan and, hopefully, our oldest son Aaron and his wife Nozomi will join us in a house in Mausanne les Alpilles in Provence. Then we will drive over to southwest France to a tiny town (identified in tour books as a "ville perdu" or lost village) called Vissec where we will share a house with Fay and Tom Cook. Our trip will end with a return visit to John and Judy.

We will keep in touch, once again, with this blog and by e-mail. It's nice to hear from you too.

Wishing for calm skies and smooth flights.
Janet
