Mel and Janet's Excellent Adventure

This blog is a way for Janet and Mel to communicate with friends and family during their incredible journeys following retirement. Of course, some adventures are less than incredible. You might not find those here. Their most recent adventure took them to Okinawa, Japan to see their now 4-year old twin grandchildren, Milana Michelle and Tavis Michael. Feel free to add your comments, questions, or just news. Private communications can be sent to m-muchnik@sbcglobal.net.

DU Lacrosse Stadium Dedication

DU Lacrosse reunion
Originally uploaded by gsumel.
Just last weekend it was Mel in Denver for the dedication of the only stadium in the United States totally dedicated to lacrosse. I was the faculty advisor of the first Univerity of Denver lacrosse team and got it established as a varsity sport. Here is some of the team circa 1968 gathered for this special event. Could they really run now the length of the field with swinging lacrosse sticks?
DU later beat the Air Force Academy in overtime in what became a snow shower - literally.

Very cool Dad! Although I feel cheated in my youth that Lacrosse wasn't popular in Illinois. It is East and West of us, why did it skip Illinois?
