Back to Manchester
Manchester, England
We began our trip by visiting old friends, John and Judy Webster, in Knutsford which is near Manchester, England. At the end of the trip, we spent a wonderful two days with them, touring an historic manor house in the area, enjoying dinner at the home of a neighbor across the street and enjoying Judy's wonderful cooking at a dinner she prepared which included the neighbors across the street.
On Thursday, we flew home to Chicago. where we were greeted by exceptionally hot weather. On Sunday, temperatures in excess of 100 degrees are predicted. Our yard is overgrown with weeds so our work is cut out for us.
This was a magnificent trip but I must admit I was happy to see my own bed. It has been fun opening the packages we've mailed ourselves over the past 11 weeks - books about the places we've visited and momentos of some of those places. We look forward to being in touch, by phone and in person, with our friends in the USA.
