Ushuaia & Tierra del Fuego

Ushuaia, Argentina is the most southern city on the planet. From our day there, we drove into the Tierra del Fuego mountains, with snow topping the peaks in mid- summer here at the end of January. This is the jumping off point for tourists heading for Antarctica. Those heading for research stations head for the Antarctic poles and continent typically from Christchurch, New Zealand We are on the edge of the Southern Ocean, where Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans meet. Our day was comparatively mild with light winds and 50 degree temperatures.
