As Aaron would say, "Rarotonga Rules!"
Mel rented this THING yesterday so we could travel around the island. It is, essentially, a motor scooter on training wheels with two, attached side-cars. It is very wobbly. We took a small trip to try it out and stopped in a shell shop. The owner was a former superintendent of schools in the Cook Islands. His territory covered thousands of miles. He would have to visit an island at a time, sometimes with just two small schools, but would have to remain for three months since that was the boat schedule.
This morning, the sky was perfectly clear and streaming blue. We took an early morning walk on the beach which is a white sand beach fringed by palm trees. The homes, bungalows and motels are hidden behind the trees so the beach appears to be deserted. The water is crystal clear. This is as close to paradise as it gets - and mind you, you don't have to behave!
On the opposite side of the road in front of our hotel, there is a row of flame trees - just coming into bloom.

A sky perfectly clear and "streaming blue" -- man, that's downright poetic! Hope your cough is better, Janet.
