Mel and Janet's Excellent Adventure

This blog is a way for Janet and Mel to communicate with friends and family during their incredible journeys following retirement. Of course, some adventures are less than incredible. You might not find those here. Their most recent adventure took them to Okinawa, Japan to see their now 4-year old twin grandchildren, Milana Michelle and Tavis Michael. Feel free to add your comments, questions, or just news. Private communications can be sent to m-muchnik@sbcglobal.net.

A Walking Tour of Santiago

Janet waits at a fountain for this marvelous free walking tour ( a student working for tips). Just 7 of us stroll through the sights. Two Russians from New York, an Australian from Melbourne, Janet and Mel, and a Chilean and Polish woman who came late, distracted everyone and left early. The guide, Gustavo, was terrific. T'was a 4 1/2 hour adventure including a funky lunch and ending in a museum memorializing the victims of the Pinochet regime, detailing the horrors and ultimate triumph, but at terrible cost.
